GODIVA: Grid for Ocean Diagnostics, Interactive Visualisation and AnalyisResearchers:John Brooke (MC), Steve Pettifer and James Marsh As part of the the UK National e-Science programme project GODIVA, funded by NERC and HEFCE, the Advanced Interfaces Group are investigating the use of commodity rendering hardware to accelerate the visualisation of oceanographical data sets. In combination with the use of Grid technology to allow ocean simulations to be performed on non-HPC resources, and portals to provide easy access to the resulting data, the AIG's visualiser will allow scientists to perform diagnostic calculations from their desktop machines.
