I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the AIG, and joined the group as an
MSc student in 1992. While studying part-time for my PhD, I was involved in designing
and teaching undergraduate courses. After completing my doctoral research in 2000, I was
appointed as a member of research staff. I am a founder member, and chairperson, of the
ACM SIGGRAPH
University of Manchester Professional Chapter. I also served as courses
chair for the ACM SIGGRAPH 2009 conference.
My research interests include computational photography, 3D reconstruction/imaging,
visual perception, real-time/massive-model rendering, collaborative virtual reality,
haptic interaction, and physically based modelling. These are united by
the desire to create compelling and effective virtual experiences. Please see my
research page or the online version of my academic
CV
for further information.
I also have a keen interest in photography (see galleries below), my work lets me build upon this hobby.
