Caroline Jay

I am a research associate in the Advanced Interfaces Group and the Bio-Health and Informatics Group at the University of Manchester.

I have completed a BA in Psychology, an MSc in Computer Science, and a stint in industry developing software at Alstom Transport & Distribution. I recently finished a PhD in the field of virtual environments.

Research Interests

My research comes under the broad 'Human-Computer Interaction' heading, but has been quite varied in its context: recent projects include Collaborative Haptics and Directed Attention. The common focus of all my work lies in trying to understand how real world and virtual experience differ, and how to map effectively between the two.
